Google Cardboard for Unreal

A plugin for UE4 that modifies android games to be compatible with google cardboard lenses.

Google Cardboard for Unreal was a request made by Google to Opaque once they saw the success of the Kinect4Unreal plugin that Opaque developed.

I was responsible for the programming of this project which involved learning about lens distortion equations and chromatic abberation equations and applying the parameters of the cardboard to it, as well as detecting the phone's rotation and surfacing it to UE4 in a way that would reduce user's motion sickness.

Throughout the project we were working remotely with a team from Google. We repeatedly beat their development time estimates and turned around features faster than they had directed, additionally numerous times through researching the required topics I was able to propose new features and alterations that would improve the user experience with no noticable impact on the development time which were welcomed.
